New generation DAF Trucks with the new XF, the XG and XG+

With the new XF, the XG and the XG+ DAF Trucks introduces the next generation of heavy trucks. Efficiency, driver comfort and safety were the key words during the development of the new generation. With the new trucks DAF is the first truck manufacturer to implement the new European laws for the length of trucks that comply with the new aerodynamic regulations. The result is a much larger cab with more space than ever before on a European truck.

The new XF is slightly lower than before but this cab is 16 cm longer than the previous model. The XG versions are in total 33 cm longer. With the new generation DAF says they replace the XF with the new XF as a premium long distance truck. With the XG models DAF creates a complete new premium segment fot long distance transport. The extra spacious cab is an answer for driving teams where both drivers live and work in the cab. With an extra wide and adjustable bunk, a flat floor and even more storage space than ever before the new DAF XG and XG+ set a new benchmark for the industry with more than 12 M3 of volume.

Both the XG and XG+ have a flat floor in combination with only three steps, and that is unique. In the cab we find a 12 inch LED display, an electric parking brake (not on the photo) and an optimal adjustable steering wheel. The windows are very deep and in combination with the flat dashboard that gives a great view of the surroundings. An option is the large Kerb View window in on the passenger side for more direct view on the blind spot. Another option is the DAF Digital Vision system with camera’s in stead of mirrors. The DAF mirrors can be folded in electric and that is smart.

The new DAF trucks come with redesigned MX11 and MX13 engines with new cylinder heads, cylinders and busses. All other parts like the alternator and the water and oilpump are uptimized for less friction. Together with the new rear axle and the improved aerodynamics DAF claims up to 10% fuel reduction for the new range. Production starts in the last months of this year but the current XF and CF models also stays in production.
